Top 4 Common Oven & Stove Repair Problems
Is your Oven experiencing one of these problems? Try some of our tips to see if that fixes the issue. We are always happy to help over the phone or via email as well.
1 -
The Stove Burners/Elements Aren't Working
Gas stove cooktops use a spark ignitor to light the gas and turn on the element. If you hear clicking but do not see a spark, the spark electrode likely needs to be replaced. For electric elements, try swapping the element with another working one. If all of the elements don't work, further electrical diagnostics are needed.
2 -
The Gas Range Won't Get Hot
The most common cause of a gas range failing to produce heat when trying to bake is a worn/faulty gas ignitor. These generally wear out over time until they no longer produce the heat necessary to ignite the gas fuel. Other causes could be related to gas pressure or a bad relay failing to send power to the ignitor.
3 -
The Electric Range Won't Get Hot
The most common cause of an electric range failing to produce heat when trying to bake is a worn/faulty bake element. When these fail they typically stop working all of a sudden. Most ovens have visible bake elements which can be visually inspected to see if they glow red when tryin to heat up.
4 -
My Range Isn't Working or is Unresponsive
A range that is receiving power but is otherwise unresponsive to controls can potentially be locked due to the "child-lock" function having been accidentally pressed. It is also possible that the main control board is faulty and not receiving input signals.
