Top 4 Common Washer Repair Problems
Is your Washer experiencing one of these problems? Try some of our tips to see if that fixes the issue. We are always happy to help over the phone or via email as well.
1 -
Washer Won’t Run or Stops Mid-Cycle
The most likely culprit if your washer doesn't start or stops mid-cycle is a faulty door switch. A faulty door switch causes the appliance to think the washer door has opened, which in turn sends a signal to stop all functions. Other likely culprits could be a bad control board or a weak/clogged drain pump.
2 -
Washer Vibrates or Makes a Rattling Sound
The easiest and most simple thing to check if your washer is vibrating excessively or making strange noises is to ensure you aren't overloading the appliance, as well as trying to balance the weight of laundry evenly when loading. Other issues that can cause a noisy washer include broken feet, or the washer not being level. Lastly, the washer could have worn or broken bearings that may need to be replaced.
3 -
Washer is Leaking
Depending on which point in it's cycle your washer leaks, there could be several causes. If your washer leaks during it's drain and spin cycle, a likely culprit is a broken or loose drain hose, or a clogged filter. Constant leaking at all times could indicate the need for new supply hoses.
4 -
Clothes are Still Wet and Heavy After Cycle
A washer that fails to properly spin dry it's load could be affected by several issues. Common issues include a clogged drain pump or filter by loose or small items such as change, collar stays, or baby socks. Ensure you are not using too much detergent, as this can cause issues with the drain cycle. Lastly, your washer's motor coupler could be broken, preventing it from spinning at it's full speed.
